FOREIGNERS IN SPAIN

Spain's popularity as a destination for foreign home buyers is growing rapidly, thanks to its climate, culture and affordable property prices. By 2023, official figures show a more diverse range of nationalities buying property in Spain. While British and European buyers were traditionally at the top, we now see a notable increase in Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese and American buyers, as well as buyers from other countries such as Morocco, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy.

Alicante remains the most popular province, followed by the Canary Islands, especially Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas, and Málaga on the Costa del Sol. Foreign buyers prefer existing properties with more than 80 square metres, offering the perfect mix of authenticity, character and comfort for an ideal Spanish lifestyle.
