“More optimistic economic horizon in the short and medium term for Spain “
OCDE :The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is an international cooperation of countries , made up of 37 states, whose objective is to coordinate their economic and social policies.
The progressive progress in the vaccination process, vital for a country as dependent on tourism and the services sector as Spain to recover the lost step, points to a more luminous scenario than
that projected in December of last year. The Spanish economy will rebound this year seven tenths more than expected then (5% becomes 5.7%) and eight tenths more in 2022
(4.8% compared to the previous 4%), according to the figures published this Tuesday by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
One of the reasons for the upward revision of the Spanish forecasts is that 'there have been fewer mobility restrictions and (Spain) has dealt better with the health situation'
in recent times, said OCDE chief economist Laurence Boone, at the presentation of the report in Paris.
The upward revision for Spain is the largest of the four economies analysed in the eurozone - Germany, France, Italy and Spain - in 2021, but is far from the improvement
projected for the G20 countries (1.5 percentage points more, up to 6.2%) and for the world as a whole (1.4 points more, up to 5.6%).
