MARBELLA RE- OPENS NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES,RESTAURANTS AND BARS AFTER 17 DAYS OF CLOSURE

MARBELLA RE- OPENS NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES,RESTAURANTS AND BARS AFTER 17 DAYS OF CLOSURE

A lot of atmosphere and desire for the streets in the reopening of shops and restaurants in Marbella and Estepona. The reopening coinciding with the weekend and Valentine's Day enlivens shopping in  Marbella and San Pedro (Saturday, February 13, 2021) MARBELLA RE- OPENS NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES, RESTAURANTS AND BARS AFTER 17 DAYS OF CLOSURE In the neighbourhoods of Marbella, the movement was noticeable in the markets and, above all, in the traditional restaurants and bars, with their full terraces. Full of locals who were eager to drink their coffees in the sun again. It seems that the restaurant industry recovers its pulse with more agility than the downtown businesses. In the old town, where the movement tends to be more in line with the hours of bars and restaurants than that of shops, the streets remained quieter and, in fact, on the edge of the businesses that will no longer lift the blind. Many have decided not to open until mobility is normalized or, at least, until the municipal perimeter closures are finished. Despite being Saturday, Valentine's Eve and the temperatures are spring, there has not been an excessive influx in the restaurant sector. CLOSE OF ALL NON-ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES IN MARBELLA AND OTHER MUNICIPITIES OF THE COSTA DEL SOL

CLOSE OF ALL NON-ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES IN MARBELLA AND OTHER MUNICIPITIES OF THE COSTA DEL SOL

Marbella and seven other municipalities in Malaga will close all non-essential activity due to the increase in infections. The data has been updated this morning by the Institute of Statistics on 25th of January 2021. Full closure: Closing of restaurants-bars and all non-essential businesses throughout the day and prohibition of leaving or entering the municipality. Marbella, Estepona, Alhaurín de la Torre, Manilva, Villanueva del Rosario, Benarrabá, Tolox and Casabermeja will have to close all non-essential activity from midnight Tuesday 26TH of January to Wednesday 27th of January. These five municipalities exceed the rate of one thousand infections per one hundred thousand inhabitants, the limit set by the Junta de Andalucía to take this measure, which will last for at least two weeks regardless of whether the incidence rises or falls. The data has been updated this morning by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography. Marbella presents a rate of 1,148 cases; Estepona, 1,004; Alhaurín de la Torre, 1,093; Manilva, 1,306; Casabermeja, 1,107; Villanueva del Rosario, 1,221; Benarrabá, 1,758, and Tolox, 1,139.   These municipalities are added to those that already exceeded this limit and where, therefore, all non-essential activity remains closed: Mollina, Villanueva del Trabuco, Cútar, Arriate, Ronda, Alameda, Almargen, Teba, Cañete la Real, Benamocarra, El Borge , Salares, Alfarnate, Vélez-Málaga, Alcaucín, Moclinejo, Alhaurín el Grande, Ardales, Coín, Monda, Álora, Algatocín, Cartajima, Igualeja and Faraján. There are already 34 towns in the province that have reached the maximum rate contemplated by the Board to decree the toughest restrictions on the marking of their powers. The president of the Board, Juanma Moreno, has requested authorization to order home lockdown in municipalities that register more than a thousand cases per hundred thousand inhabitants in the last two weeks, one of the main indicators to measure the progress of the pandemic. The Government of Pedro Sánchez has ignored this request. The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, calls for patience 'because the measures taken today are not noticeable tomorrow, but within two weeks.' Moreno considers 'an error' that the central Executive delegates the management of the pandemic in the autonomous communities without granting tools to make decisions of greater significance such as confinement at home in those areas where experts recommend it due to the vertiginous escalation of this third wave.
